Network-assisted self-measurements to enable full-duplex operation

An apparatus for wireless communications by a first wireless device, comprising:

• a processor,
• memory coupled with the processor;
• and
• instructions stored in the memory and executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:
• receive a measurement configuration to support full duplex operation using a shared resource;
• transmit, via the shared resource, a first signal via a first transmission beam using a first antenna array of the first wireless device;
• monitor, in accordance with the measurement configuration, the shared resource using a first receive beam via a second antenna array of the first wireless device, the first receive beam being based at least in part on the measurement configuration;
• and
• communicate with a second wireless device based at least in part on the monitoring.

An apparatus for wireless communications by a first wireless device, comprising:

• a processor,
• memory coupled with the processor;
• and
• instructions stored in the memory and executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:
• transmit, to a second wireless device, a measurement configuration to support full duplex operation using a shared resource, wherein the measurement configuration is indicative of a first receive beam that is to be used for monitoring the shared resource by the second wireless device;
• and
• communicate with the second wireless device based at least in part on the measurement configuration.
