Systems and methods for non-cellular wireless access using logical entity IDS in a hyper cell

An apparatus, comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• a non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing programming for execution by the at least one processor, the programming including instructions for:
• obtaining an identifier of a hyper cell in accordance with detection of a synchronization signal, wherein the identifier of the hyper cell is common to a plurality of transmit points in a coverage area of the hyper cell;
• obtaining an apparatus-dedicated connection ID based on the identifier of the hyper cell common to the plurality of transmit points, wherein the apparatus-dedicated connection ID is common to the plurality of transmit points;
• communicating data with a first transmit point in the plurality of transmit points based on the apparatus-dedicated connection ID;
• and
• communicating second data with a second transmit point in the plurality of transmit points based on the apparatus-dedicated connection ID in response to the apparatus moving from a first position in the coverage area of the hyper cell to a second position in the coverage area of the hyper cell.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer instructions, that when executed by one or more processors, cause an apparatus to perform operations of:

• obtaining an identifier of a hyper cell in accordance with detection of a synchronization signal, wherein the identifier of the hyper cell is common to a plurality of transmit points in a coverage area of the hyper cell;
• obtaining an apparatus-dedicated connection ID based on the identifier of the hyper cell common to the plurality of transmit points, wherein the apparatus-dedicated connection ID is common to the plurality of transmit points;
• communicating data with a first transmit point in the plurality of transmit points based on the apparatus-dedicated connection ID;
• and
• communicating second data with a second transmit point in the plurality of transmit points based on the apparatus-dedicated connection ID in response to the apparatus moving from a first position in the coverage area of the hyper cell to a second position in the coverage area of the hyper cell.
