Abstract
Described herein are systems, devices, methods, and media for managing emergency communications providing data sharing amongst groups of devices, proxy calling by one communication device on behalf of another, and seamless data extraction from a communication device by first responders.
Claims37
A method for managing emergency information, the method comprising:
- receiving a proxy communication comprising emergency information associated with at least one smart home sensor, wherein the emergency information comprises a geographic location and one or more of pressure sensor data, shock detector data, smoke detector data, carbon monoxide sensor data, acoustic sensor data, infrared sensor data, or motion sensor data, wherein the proxy communication is made by a third party on behalf of an individual associated with the at least one smart home sensor;
- determining an emergency dispatch center from a plurality of emergency dispatch centers as serving a jurisdiction of the at least one smart home sensor based on the geographic location;
- transmitting the emergency information comprising the geographic location and the one or more of pressure sensor data, shock detector data, smoke detector data, carbon monoxide sensor data, acoustic sensor data, infrared sensor data, or motion sensor data to the emergency dispatch center;
- obtaining updated emergency information associated with the at least one smart home sensor;
- and
- transmitting the updated emergency information associated with the at least one smart home sensor to the emergency dispatch center.

An emergency management system comprising a network element, and at least one processor operatively coupled to the network element, the at least one processor operative to:
- receive a proxy communication comprising emergency information associated with at least one smart home sensor, wherein the emergency information comprises a geographic location and one or more of pressure sensor data, shock detector data, smoke detector data, carbon monoxide sensor data, acoustic sensor data, infrared sensor data, or motion sensor data, wherein the proxy communication is made by a third party on behalf of an individual associated with the at least one smart home sensor;
- determine an emergency dispatch center from a plurality of emergency dispatch centers as serving a jurisdiction of the at least one smart home sensor based on the geographic location;
- transmit the emergency information comprising the geographic location and the one or more of pressure sensor data, shock detector data, smoke detector data, carbon monoxide sensor data, acoustic sensor data, infrared sensor data, or motion sensor data to the emergency dispatch center;
- periodically obtain updated emergency information associated with the at least one smart home sensor;
- and
- periodically transmit the updated emergency information associated with the at least one smart home sensor to the emergency dispatch center.
