Inspection system for determining a failure of image quality of a printed product and sending a notification of a jam in response

A printing apparatus comprising:

• a printing unit configured to perform printing based on a print job received from an information processing apparatus;
• a notification unit configured to notify the information processing apparatus of a first jam based on occurrence of the jam;
• a transmission unit configured to transmit to an inspection apparatus a scanned image obtained by scanning a print product printed by the printing unit;
• and
• a reception unit configured to receive, from the inspection apparatus, information indicating that the inspection result is failure,
• wherein, based on the reception of the information indicating that the inspection result is failure, the notification unit further notifies the information processing apparatus of a second jam, and
• wherein the reception unit further receives, from the information processing apparatus, a reprint job for performing reprinting that is generated based on the notification of the first jam or the second jam given by the notification unit.

A control method for controlling a printing apparatus, the control method comprising:

• performing printing based on a print job received from an information processing apparatus;
• notifying the information processing apparatus of a first jam based on occurrence of the jam;
• transmitting to an inspection apparatus a scanned image obtained by scanning a printed print product;
• receiving, from the inspection apparatus, information indicating that the inspection result is failure;
• notifying the information processing apparatus of a second jam based on the reception of the information indicating that the inspection result is failure;
• and
• receiving, from the information processing apparatus, a reprint job for performing reprinting that is generated based on the notification of the first jam or the second jam.
