Abstract
The present disclosure relates to nucleic acid extraction and purification methods and devices to accomplish the same.
Claims14
A device for isolating nucleic acid from a biological sample comprising at least one nucleic acid, the device comprising:
- an affinity matrix comprising at least one nucleic acid binding moiety covalently bound to the affinity matrix, the at least one nucleic acid binding moiety selected from streptomycin and tetracycline, the affinity matrix free of nucleic acid prior to contacting the sample, the affinity matrix configured to non-specifically bind the at least one nucleic acid from the sample in response to contacting the sample, thereby binding the at least one nucleic acid to the affinity matrix;
- and
- an elution pad configured to retain an elution buffer, the elution buffer configured to elute the at least one nucleic acid from the nucleic acid-bound affinity matrix in response to the elution pad contacting the affinity matrix, thereby isolating the at least one nucleic acid.
