A method for treating melanoma or non-small cell lung cancer in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject a composition comprising isolated bacteria selected from at least two species wherein the bacteria from the first species comprise a 16S rDNA sequence having at least 98.7% sequence identity with a nucleic acid sequence according to SEQ ID NO:
- 1, and the bacteria from the second species comprise a 16S rDNA sequence having at least 98.7% sequence identity with a nucleic acid sequence according to SEQ ID NO:
- 2 wherein said subject is receiving, has received or will receive therapy with an anti-PD-1 or anti-PD-L1 antibody, thereby treating the melanoma or non-small cell lung cancer in the subject.
