Abstract
Various aspects provide a method for treatment of vascular endothelial dysfunction, comprising administering a composition comprising nicotinamide mononucleotide and a pharmaceutical excipient to a subject.
Claims11
A method for measuring the effect of administering nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) on vascular endothelial dysfunction in a subject, comprising:
- (a) measuring a baseline value of an indicator of vascular endothelial dysfunction in the subject, wherein the indicator of vascular endothelial dysfunction is endothelium-dependent dilation, artery stiffness, or aortic pulse wave velocity;
- (b) administering at least one unit dose of NMN to the subject;
- (c) measuring a subsequent value of the indicator of vascular endothelial dysfunction in the subject;
- and
- (d) measuring the effect of administering NMN on vascular endothelial dysfunction in the subject.
