Web application access management system and method for a workspace orchestration system

A method comprising:

• receiving, using instructions stored in at least one memory and executed by at least one processor, a request to launch a web application from an online server;
• determining, using the instructions, one or more native APIs that the web application is restricted from using, wherein each of the restricted native APIs are configured in the IHS;
• when the web application requests access to one of the restricted native APIs, rejecting, using the instructions, the request;
• and
• when the web application requests access to a web API, accepting, using the instructions, the request, wherein the web API and the native API are associated with the same peripheral device, and wherein the web API is administered from an online web-based source.

A memory storage device having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by one or more processors of an Information Handling System (IHS), cause the IHS to:

• receive a request to launch a web application from an online server;
• determine one or more native APIs that the web application is restricted from using, wherein each of the restricted native APIs are configured in the IHS;
• when the web application requests access to one of the restricted native APIs, reject the request;
• and
• when the web application requests access to one of a web API, accept the request, wherein the web API and the native API are associated with the same peripheral device, and wherein the web API is administered from an online web-based source.
