Abstract
Some embodiments are directed to an electronic cryptographic device arranged to perform a cryptographic operation on input data obtaining output data. The cryptographic device stores an internal state as sets of shares. Fourier coefficients corresponding to the sets of shares satisfy a predetermined relationship among them. The cryptographic operation is performed by repeatedly updating the internal state.
Claims20
A cryptographic device comprising
- an input interface circuit, wherein the input interface circuit is arranged to receive an input data,
- a memory circuit,
- wherein the memory circuit is arranged to store an internal state,
- wherein the internal state comprises at least one data element,
- wherein the internal state is represented in the memory as at least one set of shares,
- wherein a portion of the at least one set of shares has at least one corresponding set of Fourier coefficients,
- wherein the at least one set of Fourier coefficients are arranged as a discrete Fourier transform in a finite field,
- wherein a proper subset of the at least one set of Fourier coefficients determines the at least one data element,
- a processor circuit,
- wherein the processor circuit is arranged to perform a cryptographic operation by repeatedly updating the internal state,
- wherein an initial internal state is derived from the input data,
- wherein an output data is derived from a final internal state,
- wherein an updated internal state is formed by updating the at least one set of shares,
- wherein a portion of the at least one of the at least one updated set of shares has at least one updated set of Fourier coefficients,
- wherein a proper subset of the updated set of Fourier coefficients, determines at least one updated data element of the updated internal state,
- wherein the processor circuit is arranged to apply an output operator to a final internal state so as to derive the output data,
- wherein the output operator maps the at least one set of shares to the data elements of the output data.
