Abstract
One aspect of the disclosure relates to implementing a system to encourage cross platform operation in an online game. The online game may provide the ability to provide incentives for participating in cross platform game play. The system may monitor the player's performance on a particular console and provide incentives to accomplish tasks through game play on a different platform than the player is currently operating to play the game.

A system for providing a reward to a first user based on which platform from multiple platforms is selected by the first user to receive the reward, wherein the multiple platforms include a first platform and a second platform through which the first user can participate in an online game, the system comprising:
- one or more processors configured by machine-readable instructions to:
- facilitate participation in the online game to the first user through the multiple platforms;
- determine whether a particular task and/or activity has been completed by the first user;
- responsive to determining the particular task and/or activity has been completed by the first user, present two rewards to the first user for selection by the first user, wherein the two rewards include:
- (i) a first reward that, upon selection by the first user, will be received through the first platform, and
- (ii) a second reward that, upon selection by the first user, will be received through the second platform;
- receive user input from the first user, wherein the user input represents a particular selection for either the first reward or the second reward;
- responsive to the user input representing selection of the first reward, provide the first reward to the first user through the first platform;
- and
- responsive to the user input representing selection of the second reward, provide the second reward to the first user through the second platform.
A computer implemented method for providing a reward to a first user based on which platform from multiple platforms is selected by the first user to receive the reward, wherein the multiple platforms include a first platform and a second platform through which the first user can participate in an online game, the method comprising:
- facilitating participation in the online game to the first user through the multiple platforms;
- determining whether a particular task and/or activity has been completed by the first user;
- responsive to determining the particular task and/or activity has been completed by the first user, presenting two rewards to the first user for selection by the first user, wherein the two rewards include:
- (i) a first reward that, upon selection by the first user, will be received through the first platform, and
- (ii) a second reward that, upon selection by the first user, will be received through the second platform;
- receiving user input from the first user, wherein the user input represents a particular selection for either the first reward or the second reward;
- responsive to the user input representing selection of the first reward, providing the first reward to the first user through the first platform;
- and
- responsive to the user input representing selection of the second reward, providing the second reward to the first user through the second platform.
