Fingerprint sensor having an increased sensing area

An input device comprising:

• a display device comprising a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs);
• and
• a fingerprint sensor comprising:
• an image sensing device comprising:
• a plurality of reflective lenses;
• and
• a plurality of sensing elements disposed above the plurality of reflective lenses comprising:
• a first sensing element having a field of view associated with a first lens of the plurality of lenses and laterally offset from a center of the first lens;
• and
• a second sensing element having a field of view associated with a second lens of the plurality of lenses and laterally offset from a center of the second lens.

A method for operating a fingerprint sensor, the method comprising:

• acquiring sensor data from an image sensing device of the fingerprint sensor, wherein the image sensing device comprises:
• a plurality of reflective lenses;
• and
• a plurality of sensing elements disposed above the plurality of reflective lenses comprising:
• a first sensing element having a field of view associated with a first lens of the plurality of lenses and laterally offset from a center of the first lens;
• and
• a second sensing element having a field of view associated with a second lens of the plurality of lenses and laterally offset from a center of the second lens.
