Abstract
Provided herein are compositions and methods for inhibiting tumor cell transendothelial migration by inhibition of kinesin light chain 1, variant 1 (KLC1C) expression and/or activity, and treatment or prevention of cancer and/or metastasis therewith.
Claims12
A method of inhibiting transendothelial migration of tumor cells in a mammalian subject suffering from or in remission from cancer comprising administering to the mammalian subject an effective amount of an agent comprising a peptide that competes with kinesin light chain 1, variant 1 (KLC1C) for binding to its cargo, wherein the peptide comprises a sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 3 at least 8 residues in length and a cell-penetrating peptide sequence.
