Abstract
Provided are buffered adhesive compositions comprising a high molecular weight non-neutralized polymeric acid and a high molecular weight partially neutralized polymeric acid and products such as wound dressings and ostomy skin barriers incorporating the compositions.

An ostomy skin barrier comprising:
- a first pressure sensitive adhesive;
- a second adhesive, the second adhesive including PIB, SIS copolymer, pectin and CMC, the second adhesive being a pressure sensitive adhesive;
- and
- a buffer composition including a non-neutralized polyacrylic acid and a partially neutralized polyacrylic acid.

An ostomy skin barrier comprising:
- a first adhesive;
- a second adhesive, the second adhesive including a hydrocolloid, the second adhesive being a pressure sensitive adhesive;
- a buffer composition;
- and
- wherein the buffer composition includes 20 wt. % of cross linked polyacrylic acid and 15 wt. % of cross linked partially neutralized polyacrylic acid.

An ostomy skin barrier comprising:
- a first adhesive;
- a second adhesive, the second adhesive including a hydrocolloid, a buffer composition, the second adhesive being a pressure sensitive adhesive;

- wherein the second adhesive includes 55.5 wt. % polyisobutylene, 14.5 wt. % of styrene-isoprene-styrene copolymer, 5 wt. % of polyethylene fibers, 8.3 wt. % of pectin, and 16.7 wt. % of CMC.

- a flexible outer layer;
- a first adhesive;
- a second adhesive including a hydrocolloid, the second adhesive being a pressure sensitive adhesive;

- wherein the first and second adhesives are applied to a side of the flexible outer layer;

- wherein the buffer composition includes a non-neutralized polyacrylic acid and a partially neutralized polyacrylic acid.
