Knitting needle with swivel joint

A knitting needle assembly, comprising:

• a cable having opposite ends;
• first and second cylindrical members, each of the cylindrical members having a respective longitudinal axis extending along a cylindrical body of the respective cylindrical member, the first and second cylindrical members being coupled to first and second cable ends secured to first and second opposite ends of the cable, respectively;
• wherein at least one of the first and second cylindrical members is coupled to its respective cable end such that the cylindrical member swivels about its longitudinal axis with respect to the cable to permit relative rotation between the respective cylindrical member and the cable while retaining the cable end;
• and
• wherein the at least one of the first and second cylindrical members defines a first end bore receiving the cable, and a second end bore at an opposite end thereof, the second end bore defining a radially inwardly facing thread configured to mate with a radially outwardly facing thread of the cable.
