Closed structural component and process for preparing the same

A closed structural component comprising an elongated base composite comprising:

• a first longitudinal wall and a second longitudinal wall each having an edge, wherein the first longitudinal wall and the second longitudinal wall are disposed opposite to one another and disposed on a bottom;
• a plurality of reinforcement ribs connected at each end to each of the first longitudinal wall and the second longitudinal wall and dispersed on the bottom;
• and
• a flat top disposed on the edge of each of the first longitudinal wall and the second longitudinal wall, wherein the flat top is integrally molded to the elongated base composite.
