Leak-tight heat exchanger integrity inspection using tracer material

An inspection system comprising:

• an energy detector configured to detect a presence of a tracer material in a structure;
• a data analysis system in signal communication with the energy detector, the data analysis system configured to receive data regarding detection of the presence of the tracer material in the structure;
• and
• an energy source configured to direct energy towards the structure being tested, wherein the data analysis system is configured to perform spectral analysis regarding the data received from the energy detector, wherein the data analysis system determines a tested spectra regarding the structure being tested using the data received from the energy detector and compares the tested spectra to a reference spectra stored to a memory of the data analysis system, wherein the reference spectra corresponds to a spectra of the structure when the tracer material is positioned in a desired configuration relative to the structure, and wherein the data analysis system generates a control signal indicative of an unsuitable braze joint when a threshold value of difference is reached when comparing the tested spectra to the reference spectra.
