On-board vehicular communication system

A computer system for obtaining up-to-date update information from a telematics system in a vehicle, comprising:

• a memory comprising instructions;
• and
• one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to perform the functions of:
• receiving a first update information from a high-speed provider;
• receiving a second update information from a telematics system;
• determining a more recent one of the first update information and the second update information;
• and
• providing the more recent one of the first update information and the second update information as the up-to-date update information to the mobile device.

A non-transitory computer readable medium storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a computer, cause the one or more processors to perform the method comprising:

• receiving a first update information from a high-speed provider;
• receiving a second update information from a telematics system;
• determining a more recent one of the first update information and the second update information;
• and
• providing the more recent of the first update information and the second update information as up-to-date update information to the mobile device.
