Abstract
A method of producing an exercise weight structure comprises mixing a particulate material with a binder material and molding the resulting mixture to an appropriate shape. An outer skin for the exercise weight structure is firstly formed of a resilient material, and forms a mold into which an inner weight section or body is molded or cast. The inner weight section and the outer skin are both formed of recycled material and include a common binder material.
Claims9
A exercise weight structure comprising:
- a core formed from a particulate metallic material that is mixed with a binder material and molded to the shape of the exercise weight structure;
- a molded outer skin that is at least partially formed from the same material as the binder material, and
- wherein the molded outer skin is bonded to the binder material of the inner core, and
- wherein the exercise weight structure having an annular body comprising opposing faces and a cutout extending between the opposing faces and the cutout receives a collar to permit mounting of the exercise weight structure on a shaft or bar.
