Display device comprising a first alignment layer having reactive mesogens and a photoinitiator and a second alignment layer not having the photoinitiator

A display device comprising:

• a first substrate;
• a second substrate facing the first substrate;
• a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first and second substrates, the liquid crystal layer comprising liquid crystal molecules;
• a first alignment layer disposed between the first substrate and the liquid crystal layer, the first alignment layer includes reactive mesogens which are polymerized with each other and a photoinitiator;
• and
• a second alignment layer disposed between the liquid crystal layer and the second substrate,
• wherein a material of the first alignment layer is different from a material of the second alignment layer, and
• wherein an entire composition of the second alignment layer does not include the photoinitiator.
