Vehicle mirror having image display function and method for producing the same

A method for producing a vehicle mirror having an image display function, the vehicle mirror including an image display device, a circularly polarized light reflection layer, and a front plate formed of glass or plastic,

• wherein the circularly polarized light reflection layer includes a linearly polarized light reflection plate and a 1/4 wavelength plate, and
• the method includes forming the 1/4 wavelength plate from a composition that is applied directly to a surface of the linearly polarized light reflection plate without an adhesive layer disposed therebetween, or that is applied directly to a surface of an alignment layer directly in contact with the linearly polarized light reflection plate,
• wherein the 1/4 wavelength plate is a cured layer of the liquid crystal composition including a polymerizable liquid crystal compound, and
• wherein the front plate, the 1/4 wavelength plate, the linearly polarized light reflection plate and the image display device are arranged in this order from an observer-side surface of the vehicle mirror.
