Abstract
Disclosed is the use of a composition including dihydroquercetin and optionally α-tocopherol and/or bisabolol for treating herpes infection. Also disclosed is the use of such a composition for treating inflammation induced by herpes infection in mucosa, as well as a method for treating HSV infection and the associated inflammation.

A method for treating genital sores or blisters in subjects suffering from genital herpes simplex virus type 2 infection, comprising topically administering once a day during 14 days an effective amount of a composition comprising 5% w/w dihydroquercetin, 1% w/w α-tocopherol, 0.2% w/w bisabolol and a mucosal-compatible base.
