Apparatus and method for a wireless device to receive data in an eco state

A method comprising:

• receiving, by a wireless device that is in a state, a unicast message from a network node, the message being associated with an impending transmission of data to the wireless device but excluding scheduling information associated with timing of the transmission of the data, wherein the message is to inform the wireless device of the transmission of the data, wherein the state is different from an active state;
• and
• receiving, by the wireless device while the wireless device remains in the state that is different from the active state, the data from the network node.

An apparatus comprising a processor coupled with a memory, the processor configured to:

• send a message in a unicast manner to a wireless device that is in a state, the message being associated with an impending transmission of data to the wireless device but excluding scheduling information associated with timing of the transmission of the data, wherein the message is to inform the wireless device of the transmission of the data, wherein the state is different from an active state;
• and
• transmit the data to the wireless device while the wireless device remains in the state that is different from the active state.

An apparatus comprising a processor coupled with a memory, the processor configured to:

• receive a unicast message from a network node, the message being associated with an impending transmission of data to the wireless device but excluding scheduling information associated with timing of the transmission of the data, wherein the message is to inform the wireless device of the transmission of the data, wherein the apparatus is operating in a state, the state being different from an active state;
• and
• receive, while the wireless device remains in the state that is different from the active state, the data from the network node.
