Abstract
The HEVC VPS Syntax Structure is modified by re-ordering of some syntax parameters for the future HEVC Extensions in scalable video coding, multi-view coding and 3D video coding areas. This re-ordering enables external network devices such as middle-boxes to easily access of some of the useful parameters in VPS and its extension data that are able to be used for session negotiation and/or capability exchanges for better communication and system integration purposes.
Claims14
An encoding apparatus, comprising:
- circuitry configured to:
- set each of a first parameter and a second parameter, wherein
- the first parameter specifies a total number of bytes in each of a profile level and video parameter set extension data, and
- the second parameter indicates the profile level;
- generate a bit stream syntax that includes the first parameter and the second parameter,
- wherein the first parameter that specifies the total number of bytes in each of the profile level and the video parameter set extension data, is adjacent to a beginning of the second parameter that indicates the profile level;
- and
- encode content to generate a bit stream, based on the generated bit stream syntax.
