Method and a device for improved status reports

A transceiver for use in a cellular communications system, the transceiver being adapted to send traffic to and receiving traffic from a second transceiver in the system, comprising:

• a transmitter being adapted to send said traffic in data units, wherein each data unit is given an identifier and the data units are divided into segments, wherein said transceiver is adapted to send status information in data frames or data units about properly received, partially received or non-received data units to said second transceiver, wherein
• in the case of one or more non-received or partially received data units, the status information includes a message comprises data regarding a non-received or partially received data unit or frame, in the form of a certain sequence number,
• the transceiver transmits an indication, in the case of one or more partially received data units, of which parts of the partially received data units were non-received,
• the message includes a first extension indicator, and a second extension indicator indicating whether the data unit or units were non-received or partially received, and
• said first extension indicator indicates the absence or presence of another set comprising another of said first and second extension indicators and data regarding a partially or non-received data unit or frame in the form of the identifier of said data unit or frame.
