Automated occupant tracking systems and methods

An automated method for coordinating electronic interactions among a plurality of geographically distributed computing entities, comprising a first distributed computing entity and a second distributed computing entity, to maintain real-time occupancy data for a plurality of entities, the method comprising:

• receiving, from the first distributed computing entity associated with a first location, occupancy update data for a first entity, wherein the occupancy update data comprises identifier data for the first entity, and wherein the occupancy update data indicates that the first entity moved to the first location;
• querying an occupancy database for a first entity profile corresponding to the first entity based at least in part on the identifier data, wherein the occupancy database stores occupancy data for the plurality of entities in corresponding entity profiles;
• identifying, based at least in part on stored occupancy data from the first entity profile, the second distributed computing entity associated with a second location geographically spaced from the first location;
• querying the second distributed computing entity associated with the second location for occupancy termination data corresponding to the first entity;
• and
• upon receipt of the occupancy termination data corresponding to the first entity, updating the first entity profile to reflect the occupancy update data.

An automated computer system for coordinating electronic interactions among a plurality of distributed computing entities, comprising a first distributed computing entity and a second distributed computing entity, to maintain real-time occupancy data for a plurality of entities, the computer system comprising one or more non-transitory memory storage areas and one or more processors, the one or more processors collectively configured to:

• receive, from the first distributed computing entity associated with a first location, occupancy update data for a first entity, wherein the occupancy update data comprises identifier data for the first entity, and wherein the occupancy update data indicates that the first entity moved to the first location;
• query an occupancy database for a first entity profile corresponding to the first entity based at least in part on the identifier data, wherein the occupancy database stores occupancy data for the plurality of entities in corresponding entity profiles;
• identify, based at least in part on the stored occupancy data from the first entity profile, the second distributed computing entity associated with a second location geographically spaced from the first location;
• query the second distributed computing entity associated with the second location for occupancy termination data corresponding to the first entity;
• and
• upon receipt of the occupancy termination data corresponding to the first entity, update the first entity profile to reflect the occupancy update data.
