Abstract
A method for solution polymerization. The method comprises polymerizing in a solvent a monomer mixture comprising: (a) 5 to 95 wt % of a C3-C5 ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid; and (b) 5 to 95 wt % of vinyl acetate; wherein the solvent comprises 51 to 88 wt % isopropanol and 12 to 49 wt % water.

A method for solution polymerization;
- said method comprising polymerizing in a solvent a monomer mixture comprising:
- (a) 5 to 75 wt % of a C3-C5 ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid;
- (b) 10 to 60 wt % of vinyl acetate;
- and (c) 10 to 50 wt % (meth)acrylic acid;
- wherein the solvent comprises 51 to 88 wt % isopropanol and 12 to 49 wt % water.
