Abstract
This invention pertains to an anti-microbial, in particular anti-bacterial and/or anti-fungal composition comprising cinnamaldehyde, trans-2-methoxycinnamaldehyde, cinnamyl acetate and linalool. In particular this composition is intended for preventing and/or treating microbial infection in an animal.
Claims6
A method for antimicrobial treatment, said method comprising:
- administering to a patient in need thereof a synthetic composition comprising:
- an active blend comprising:
- trans-cinnamaldehyde, trans-2-methoxycinnamaldehyde, cinnamyl acetate, and linalool,
- optionally cineole, beta-caryophyllene, and/or benzyl benzoate,
- wherein the number of compounds in the active blend is equal to or lower than seven,
- optionally a drug,
- wherein the composition is free of coumarin,
- wherein the total amount of safrole is below 1% by weight compared to the total weight of the composition,
- wherein the composition comprises at least one pharmaceutical acceptable excipient, and
- wherein the infection to be treated is a digestive system infection and results from bacteria.

- trans-cinnamaldehyde, trans-2-methoxycinnamaldehyde, cinnamyl acetate, and linalool,
- at least cineole, and/or benzyl benzoate,
- optionally beta-caryophyllene,
- wherein the number of compounds in the active blend is equal to or lower than seven,
- optionally a drug,
- wherein the composition is free of coumarin and safrole,
- wherein the synthetic composition comprises at least one pharmaceutical acceptable excipient, and
- wherein the infection to be treated is a digestive system infection and results from bacteria.
