A novel maize variety designated X08N789 and seed, plants and plant parts thereof are produced by crossing inbred maize varieties. Methods for producing a maize plant by crossing hybrid maize variety X08N789 with another maize plant are disclosed. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into X08N789 through backcrossing or genetic transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby are described. Maize variety X08N789, the seed, the plant produced from the seed, and variants, mutants, and minor modifications of maize variety X08N789 are provided. Methods for producing maize varieties derived from maize variety X08N789 and methods of using maize variety X08N789 are disclosed.
A seed of hybrid maize variety X08N789, representative seed produced by crossing a first plant of variety PH48H0 with a second plant of variety PH2RDP, wherein representative seed of the varieties PH48H0 and PH2RDP have been deposited under NCMA Accession Numbers 202004010 and 202006044, respectively.
A seed of hybrid maize variety X08N789 further comprising a single locus conversion, wherein a plant grown from the seed comprises a trait conferred by the single locus conversion, and wherein the seed is produced by crossing a first plant of variety PH48H0 with a second plant of variety PH2RDP, wherein the first plant, the second plant or both further comprise the single locus conversion, and wherein representative seed of the varieties PH48H0 and PH2RDP without the single locus conversion have been deposited under NCMA Accession Numbers 202004010 and 202006044, respectively.
A method for producing a hybrid maize variety X08N789 seed further comprising a locus conversion, the method comprising crossing a first plant of variety PH48H0 with a second plant of variety PH2RDP, representative seed of the varieties PH48H0 and PH2RDP having been deposited under NCMA Accession Numbers 202004010 and 202006044, wherein at least one of the varieties PH48H0 and PH2RDP further comprises the locus conversion.
