Abstract
Particular embodiments described herein provide for a network element that can be configured to receive a request message, wherein the request message includes a read trigger, an indicator selector, and a completion trigger, determine an indicator that relates to the indicator selector, and perform an action when the read trigger is activated.
Claims25
At least one non-transitory machine readable medium comprising one or more instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
- receive a request message from a network manager, wherein the request message was communicated over a network that includes a plurality of switches and includes a read trigger, an indicator selector, and a completion trigger;
- determine at least one indicator that relates to the indicator selector;
- and
- perform an action when the read trigger is activated.
An apparatus comprising:
- memory;
- an indicator engine;
- and
- at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor is configured to cause the indicator engine to:
- receive a request message from a network manager, wherein the request message was communicated over a network that includes a plurality of switches and includes a read trigger, an indicator selector, and a completion trigger;
- determine at least one indicator that relates to the indicator selector;
- perform an action when the read trigger is activated;
- read a status of the indicator that relates to the indicator selector;
- and
- store the status in a buffer.
A method comprising:
- receiving a request message, wherein the request message was communicated over a network that includes a plurality of switches and includes a read trigger, an indicator selector, and a completion trigger;
- determining at least one indicator that relate to the indicator selector;
- and
- performing an action when the read trigger is activated.
A system for process management, the system comprising:
- memory;
- one or more processors;
- and
- an indicator engine configured to:
- receive a request message, wherein the request message was communicated over a network that includes a plurality of switches and includes a read trigger, an indicator selector, and a completion trigger;
- determine one or more indicators that relate to the indicator selector;
- and
- perform an action when the read trigger is activated.
