An optical axis adjustment method for an integrated optical module including, in a package, an optical demultiplexer that demultiplexes an incident light beam into at least a first light beam and a second light beam that have different wavelengths, and at least a first light receiving element and a second light receiving element that receive the first light beam and the second light beam, respectively, the first light beam being suitable for a wavelength band of a light beam to be received by the first light receiving element, the second light beam being suitable for a wavelength band of a light beam to be received by the second light receiving element, the optical axis adjustment method comprising steps of:
- measuring output currents by changing a wavelength of the incident light beam introduced into the package and detecting, with the first light receiving element and the second light receiving element, light beams resulted from demultiplexing the incident light beam with a first filter and a second filter;
- detecting center wavelengths of the first light beam and the second light beam based on a change in the output currents in response to a change in the wavelength of the incident light beam;
- comparing the center wavelengths of the first light beam and the second light beam with design transmission wavelengths of the first filter and the second filter, and defining respective differences as a first wavelength deviation and a second wavelength deviation;
- and
- adjusting a position of the optical demultiplexer so that the total sun of the first wavelength deviation and the second wavelength deviation lies within the design range.
