Brake control device for vehicles

A brake control device for a vehicle comprising:

• an operation amount sensor that detects an operation amount of a brake operating member of a vehicle;
• a front-wheel actuator that presses a friction member against a front-wheel rotary member integrally rotating with a front wheel of the vehicle and thereby generates a front-wheel braking force in said front wheel;
• a rear-wheel actuator that presses a friction member against a rear-wheel rotary member integrally rotating with a rear wheel of the vehicle and thereby generates a rear-wheel braking force in said rear wheel;
• a front-wheel sensor that detects front-wheel output of the front-wheel actuator;
• a rear-wheel sensor that detects rear-wheel output of the rear-wheel actuator;
• and
• a controller that controls the front-wheel actuator and the rear-wheel actuator on the basis of the operation amount, the front-wheel output, and the rear-wheel output, wherein
• the controller is configured to
• determine whether a long-term low-load state where the friction member is continuously pressed against the rear-wheel rotary member over a long period of time in a state within a specified range is established on the basis of the operation amount and/or the rear-wheel output, and
• in the case where it is determined that the long-term low-load state is established, decrease a distribution ratio of the rear-wheel braking force to a total braking force applied to the vehicle in comparison with the case where it is not determined that the long-term low-load state is established.
