Locker system access control

An apparatus or system, the apparatus or system comprising at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause an apparatus or system at least to perform and/or control a method comprising:

• receiving, at a mobile device, a challenge transmitted by a locker system;
• transmitting the challenge received at the mobile device to a backend system;
• receiving, at the mobile device, a response from the backend system, wherein the response has been generated by the backend system at least based on the challenge received from the mobile device and on a first key stored at the backend system;
• transmitting the response received at the mobile device from the mobile device to the locker system, wherein the locker system is configured to grant access to a compartment of the locker system at least depending on a result of a checking whether the response received at the locker system has been generated under usage of at least the challenge and a key that corresponds to a second key stored at the locker system.

A method comprising:

• transmitting a challenge from a locker system to a mobile device;
• receiving a response from the mobile device at the locker system, wherein the response has been generated by a backend system, which received the challenge from the mobile device, at least based on the challenge received by the backend system and on a first key stored at the backend system and has been transmitted to the mobile device;
• checking at the locker system whether the received response has been generated under usage of at least the challenge and a key that corresponds to a second key stored at the locker system;
• and
• granting access to a compartment of the locker system at least depending on a result of the checking.

A method comprising:

• receiving, at a mobile device, a challenge transmitted by a locker system;
• transmitting the challenge received at the mobile device to a backend system;
• receiving, at the mobile device, a response from the backend system, wherein the response has been generated by the backend system at least based on the challenge received from the mobile device and on a first key stored at the backend system;
• transmitting the response received at the mobile device from the mobile device to the locker system, wherein the locker system is configured to grant access to a compartment of the locker system at least depending on a result of a checking whether the response received at the locker system has been generated under usage of at least the challenge and a key that corresponds to a second key stored at the locker system.
