Providing a social media recommendation based on data captured by a wearable device

A method for providing recommendations based on images captured by a wearable apparatus, the method comprising:

• analyzing, via at least one processing device, at least one image captured by a wearable image sensor from an environment of a user of the wearable apparatus to determine a person is reading a book, wherein the at least one captured image depicts the person reading the book in the environment of the user and the wearable image sensor is included in the wearable apparatus;
• obtaining information related to the book based on the analysis of the at least one captured image;
• generating at least one contact recommendation for the person for at least one social network contact based on the obtained information;
• and
• providing the at least one contact recommendation to the person.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium that stores instructions that, when executed by at least one processing device, cause the at least one processing device to perform operations comprising:

• analyzing at least one image captured by a wearable image sensor from an environment of a person of the wearable apparatus to determine the user is reading a book, wherein the at least one captured image depicts the person reading the book in the environment of the user and the wearable image sensor is included in the wearable apparatus;
• obtaining information related to the book based on the analysis of the at least one captured image;
• generating at least one contact recommendation of the person for at least one social network contact based on the obtained information;
• and
• providing the at least one contact recommendation to the person.
