Abstract
Provided is a communication method and apparatus using a multi-radio. The communication method includes establishing a link via at least one node included in a group that uses a low data-rate radio (LDR); transmitting a data frame to the at least one node included in the group; and receiving, using a multi-radio based on an availability of the LDR, an acknowledgement (ACK) with respect to the transmitted data frame.
Claims24
A communication method executed by a head node of a first group, the method comprising:
- receiving, from each of a plurality of nodes forming the first group with the head node, a channel report frame including respective intensity information of a corresponding signal, the corresponding signal being received respectively by two or more nodes of the plurality of nodes in the first group directly from a neighbor head node of a different second group;
- selecting one of the plurality of nodes to be a communication partner based on two or more of the received respective intensity information of the corresponding signal received directly from the neighbor head node of the different second group;
- transmitting a data frame to the selected node;
- and
- transmitting, to the selected node, an acknowledgement (ACK) request frame which requests an ACK indicating whether the data frame is received.
A communication apparatus comprising:
- a receiver configured to receive, from each of a plurality of nodes forming a first group with the communication apparatus, a channel report frame including respective intensity information of a corresponding signal, the corresponding signal being received respectively by two or more nodes of the plurality of nodes in the first group directly from a neighbor head node of a different second group;
- and
- circuitry configured to:
- select one of the plurality of nodes to be a communication partner based on two or more of the received respective intensity information received of the corresponding signal directly from the neighbor head node of the different second group;
- control transmission of a data frame to the selected node;
- and
- control transmission of, to the selected node, an ACK request frame which requests an ACK indicating whether the data frame is received.
A communication method executed by a node, the method comprising:
- transmitting a frame including low data-rate radio (LDR) information to a head node of a first group to establish a link with the head node, the first group including the head node and the node;
- receiving a data frame from the head node where the link is established;
- receiving, from the head node, an acknowledgement (ACK) request frame which requests an ACK indicating whether the data frame is received;
- transmitting, to the head node, an ACK in response to the ACK request frame;
- receiving a beacon signal transmitted from a neighbor head node of a different second group;
- obtaining, based on the beacon signal, intensity information of the beacon signal received directly from the neighbor head node of the different second group;
- and
- transmitting, to the head node of the first group, a first channel report frame including the intensity information of the received beacon signal directly from the neighbor head node of the different second group, wherein
- the head node of the first group performs:
- receiving, from each of a plurality of nodes forming the first group with the head node, a second respective channel report frame including respective intensity information of a respective beacon signal, the respective beacon signal being received by two or more nodes of the plurality of nodes in the first group directly from the neighbor head node of the different second group, the first group including the node;
- and
- selecting one of the plurality of nodes to be a communication partner based on two or more of the received respective intensity information of the respective beacon signal directly from the neighbor head node of the different second group.
A communication apparatus comprising:
- circuitry configured to:
- control transmission of a frame including low data-rate radio (LDR) information to a head node of a first group to establish a link with the head node, the first group including the head node and the communication apparatus;
- control reception of a data frame from the head node where the link is established;
- control reception of, from the head node, an ACK request frame which requests an ACK indicating whether the data frame is received;
- control transmission of, to the head node, an ACK in response to the ACK request frame;
- control reception of a beacon signal transmitted from a neighbor head node of a different second group;
- obtain, based on the beacon signal, intensity information of the beacon signal received directly from the neighbor head node of the different second group;
- and
- control transmission of, to the head node of the first group, a first channel report frame including the intensity information of the received beacon signal directly from the neighbor head node of the different second group, wherein
- the head node of the first group comprises:
- a receiver circuitry configured to receive, from each of a plurality of nodes forming the first group with the head node, a second respective channel report frame including respective intensity information of a respective beacon signal, the respective beacon signal being received by two or more nodes of the plurality of nodes in the first group directly from the neighbor head node of the different second group, the first group including the communication apparatus;
- and
- a selection circuitry configured to select one of the plurality of nodes to be a communication partner based on two or more of the received respective intensity information of the respective beacon signal directly from the neighbor head node of the different second group.
