Abstract
A main object of the present disclosure is to provide a cathode active material that is used in a fluoride ion battery and is capable of being charged and discharged at a high potential. The present disclosure achieves the object by providing a cathode active material used in a fluoride ion battery, the cathode active material comprising: a Ce element, a S element, and a F element; and a composition represented by CeSF.

A cathode active material used in a fluoride ion battery, the cathode active material comprising:
- a Ce element, a S element, and a F element;
- and
- a composition represented by CeSF.
A cathode active material used in a fluoride ion battery, the cathode active material comprising:
- a Ce element, a S element, and a F element;
- and
- a crystal phase having a peak at a position of 2θ=25.4°±0.5°, 31.2°±0.5°, 41.0°±0.5°, 45.0°±0.5°, and 52.6°±0.5° in an X-ray diffraction measurement using a CuKα ray.
