Abstract
The present disclosure includes apparatuses and methods for data movement. An example apparatus includes a memory device that includes a plurality of subarrays of memory cells and sensing circuitry coupled to the plurality of subarrays. The sensing circuitry includes a sense amplifier and a compute component. The memory device includes a latch selectably coupled to a column of the memory cells and configured to store a data value moved from the sensing circuitry. The memory device includes a controller configured to direct movement of the data value from the sensing circuitry to the latch.
Claims19
An apparatus, comprising:
- a memory device, comprising:
- a plurality of subarrays of memory cells;
- respective sensing circuitry stripes coupled to the plurality of subarrays, the respective sensing circuitry stripes each including a sense amplifier stripe and a corresponding compute component stripe;
- a latch stripe comprising a plurality of latches selectably coupled to respective columns of the memory cells and configured to store first data values moved, in parallel, from a first sensing circuitry stripe of a first subarray to the latch stripe;
- and
- a controller configured to direct:
- movement of the first data values from the first sensing circuitry stripe to the latch stripe;
- and
- movement of the first values from the latch stripe to a selected second subarray via a second sensing circuitry stripe corresponding thereto;
- and
- while the first data values are being moved to the selected second subarray, performance of a logical operation between second and third data values stored in a third subarray using a third sensing circuitry stripe corresponding thereto.
A system, comprising:
- a host configured to input, via a data bus, a first data value to a latch stripe comprising a plurality of latches selectably coupled to a plurality of subarrays;
- a memory device configured to cause:
- movement of the first data value from the latch stripe to sensing circuitry stripe coupled to a selected subarray, via a selectably coupled I/O line shared by the latch and the sensing circuitry, such that the first data value is written to a selected row of the selected subarray;
- responsive to sensing the first data value in the selected row of the selected subarray, storage of the sensed data value by the sensing circuitry coupled to the selected subarray via a second sensing circuity stripe;
- movement of the sensed data value from the sensing circuitry stripe to the latch stripe, wherein the moved data value is stored by the latch stripe;
- and
- movement, in parallel, of the stored data value from the latch to the data bus coupled to the host while the first data values are being moved to the selected second subarray, performance of a logical operation between second and third data values stored in a third subarray using a third sensing circuitry stripe corresponding thereto.
A method for operating a memory device, comprising:
- selectably coupling a shared I/O line to sensing circuitry and to a selected latch component to enable:
- movement of a first data value and second data value stored by the sensing circuitry to the selected latch component;
- and
- movement, from the selected latch component, of a third data value, upon which a logical operation has been performed on the first and second data values, to a selected row in a plurality of subarrays;
- wherein the memory device comprises:
- the sensing circuitry including a first sense amplifier and a first compute component and associated with a subarray of the plurality of subarrays;
- and
- the selected latch component including a second sense amplifier configured to store the first data value moved from the sensing circuitry and including a second compute component configured to store a second data value moved from the sensing circuitry to enable a logical operation to be performed on the first and second data values.
