Claims8
An Acinetobacter baumanni mutant having a full or partial deletion in the thioredoxin-A (TrxA) gene that results in a non-functional TrxA gene.
A vaccine comprising a live attenuated Acinetobacter baumanni, wherein the attenuated Acinetobacter baumanni is Acinetobacter baumanni having a full or partial deletion in the thioredoxin-A (TrxA) gene that results in a non-functional TrxA gene and induces an immune response to Acinetobacter baumanni in a subject in need thereof.
A method of inducing an immune response against Acinetobacter baumanni in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to said subject an effective dose of a live attenuated Acinetobacter baumanni, wherein the attenuated Acinetobacter baumanni is Acinetobacter baumanni having a full or partial deletion in the thioredoxin-A (TrxA) gene that results in a non-functional TrxA gene.
