Abstract
Described are methods, devices, and systems related to pelvic implants, including implants that include absorbable and non-absorbable materials.
Claims20
An implantable mesh comprising:
- a plurality of absorbable fibers;
- a plurality of non-absorbable fibers, the plurality of absorbable fibers being aligned in a first direction and the plurality of non-absorbable fibers i-s being aligned in a second direction, the second direction being substantially perpendicular to the first direction, to form openings between the plurality of absorbable fibers and the plurality of non-absorbable fibers,
- the plurality of absorbable fibers being interwoven or knitted with the plurality of non-absorbable fibers to form a mesh structure,
- the plurality of absorbable fibers being configured to degrade after implantation into a human subject;
- and
- an absorbable polymer, the absorbable polymer being located at least some of the openings.

An implantable mesh comprising:
- a plurality of weft strands extending in a weft direction and a plurality of waft strands extending in a warp direction, the plurality of weft strands and the plurality of waft strands being non-absorbable fibers and interwoven or knitted to produce a porous mesh;
- and
- an absorbable polymer,
- wherein the absorbable polymer is located at intersections of the plurality of weft strands and the plurality of waft strands,
- wherein the absorbable polymer is configured to degrade after implantation into a human subject.
2 more elements
A method of treating a pelvic condition by supporting a tissue of a pelvic region, the method comprising:
- providing an implant including a mesh, the mesh including:
- a plurality of absorbable fibers;
- and
- a plurality of non-absorbable fibers, the plurality of absorbable fibers being aligned in a first direction and the plurality of non-absorbable fibers being aligned in a second direction, the second direction being substantially perpendicular to the first direction, to form openings between the plurality of absorbable fibers and the plurality of non-absorbable fibers,
- the plurality of absorbable fiber being interwoven or knitted with the plurality of non-absorbable fibers to form a mesh structure, the plurality of absorbable fibers being configured to degrade after implantation into a human subject;
- and
- an absorbable polymer, the absorbable polymer being located at least some of the openings;
- and
- implanting the mesh in a patient to support a tissue of a pelvic region.

A method of treating a pelvic condition by supporting tissue of a pelvic region, the method comprising
- providing an implant including a mesh, the mesh including:
- a plurality of weft strands extending in a weft direction and a plurality of waft strands extending in a warp direction, the plurality of weft strands and the plurality of waft strands being non-absorbable fibers and interwoven or knitted to produce a porous mesh;
- and
- an absorbable polymer,
- wherein the absorbable polymer is located at intersections of the plurality of weft strands and the plurality of waft strands,
- implanting the implant in a patient to support a tissue of a pelvic region.
