Abstract
According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH665819. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH665819, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH665819 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH665819.
Claims21
A seed produced by crossing a plant of variety CV211902 with a hybrid plant having varieties CV758647 and CV799972 as parents, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV211902, CV758647, and CV799972 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-9742, PTA-123809, and PTA-122122, respectively.
A seed produced by crossing a plant of variety CV211902 with a hybrid plant having varieties CV758647 and CV799972 as parents, wherein one or more of said plants of varieties CV211902, CV758647, and CV799972 further comprises a transgene, and wherein representative seed of said varieties CV211902, CV758647, and CV799972 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-9742, PTA-123809, and PTA-122122, respectively.
A seed produced by crossing a plant of variety CV211902 with a hybrid plant having varieties CV758647 and CV799972 as parents, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV211902, CV758647, and CV799972 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-9742, PTA-123809, and PTA-122122, respectively, and wherein one or more of the plants of varieties CV211902, CV758647, and CV799972 further comprises a single locus conversion, and wherein a plant grown from said seed comprises a trait conferred by said single locus conversion.
A method of introducing a heritable trait into a hybrid corn variety, the method comprising the steps of:
- (a) introducing at least the heritable trait into at least one of the inbred corn varieties selected from the group consisting of inbred corn varieties CV211902, CV758647, and CV799972 to produce plants of the inbred corn varieties that heritably carry the heritable trait, wherein the heritable trait is introduced into said inbred corn varieties by backcrossing, wherein said backcrossing is sufficient to produce plants of said inbred corn varieties further comprising the heritable trait and otherwise comprising all of the morphological and physiological characteristics of said inbred corn varieties, and wherein representative seed of the inbred corn varieties CV211902, CV758647, and CV799972 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-9742, PTA-123809, and PTA-122122, respectively;
- and
- (b) performing a cross, wherein a plant of the inbred corn variety CV758647 is crossed with a plant of the inbred corn variety CV799972 to produce F1 hybrid progeny and a plant of said F1 hybrid progeny is crossed with a plant of the inbred corn variety CV211902 to produce a plant of said hybrid corn variety further comprising the heritable trait, and wherein one or more of said plants used in said cross were produced by step (a) and heritably carry the heritable trait.
