System and method for determining location of resources in a predefined region

A computer-implemented method for determining location of one or more resources in a predefined region, via program instructions stored in a memory and executed by a processor, the computer-implemented method comprising:

• receiving, at a receiver installed on one or more resources, one or more signals from one or more transmitters placed in predetermined locations in a predefined region;
• determining a reference point ID corresponding to the one or more transmitters;
• retrieving location coordinates corresponding to the determined reference point ID from a central server;
• determining instances at which the one or more resources crosses a reference point in the predetermined locations based on the retrieved location coordinates;
• fetching values of distance traveled by the one or more resources after a pre-defined interval of time based on the determined instances of crossing the reference point;
• detecting direction in which the one or more resources are moving to determine location of the one or more resources in the predefined region in real-time;
• and
• forwarding the determined location of the one or more resources to the central server.

A computer program product for determining location of one or more resources in a predefined region, the computer program product comprising:

• a non-transitory computer-readable medium having computer-readable program code stored thereon, the computer-readable program code comprising instructions that when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
• receive, at a receiver installed on one or more resources, one or more signals from one or more transmitters placed in predetermined locations in a predefined region;
• determine a reference point ID corresponding to the one or more transmitters;
• retrieve location coordinates corresponding to the determined reference point ID from a central server;
• determine instances at which the one or more resources crosses a reference point in the predetermined locations based on the retrieved location coordinates;
• fetch values of distance traveled by the one or more resources after a pre-defined interval of time based on the determined instances of crossing the reference point;
• detect direction in which the one or more resources are moving to determine location of the one or more resources in the predefined region in real-time;
• and
• forward the determined location of the one or more resources to the central server.
