Abstract
The present invention provides a novel sirtuin-1 activating agent, and a formulation for suppressing cell senescence caused by oxidative stress, comprising the agent. In particular, the invention provides a sirtuin-1 activating agent consisting of a plant body or solvent extract of Peucedanum japonicum Thunb., and a formulation for suppressing cell senescence due to oxidative stress, comprising the agent.

A method for activating sirtuin-1 comprising topically administrating to a subject in need of activation of sirtuin-1 a dosage form containing an effective amount of a Peucedanum japonicum Thunb. plant body or solvent extract thereof.
A method for suppressing cell senescence due to oxidative stress comprising topically administrating to a subject in need of activation of sirtuin-1 a formulation comprising an effective amount of a Peucedanum japonicum Thunb. plant body or solvent extract thereof, wherein the cell senescence due to oxidative stress is suppressed via activation of sirtuin-1 in the subject.
