Abstract
An ‘L’ shaped dynamically configurable impedance matching circuit is presented herein. The circuit can include a series element and a shunt element. The shunt element in the L-shaped impedance matching circuit can be moved or modified based on the impedance of the circuit elements in electrical communication with each side of the impedance matching circuit. Thus, in some cases, the impedance matching circuit may be a flexible circuit that can be dynamically modified based on the environment or configuration of the wireless device that includes the impedance matching circuit.
Claims20
A wireless device comprising:
- an antenna having a first impedance value;
- a diplexer having a second impedance value, the second impedance value differing from the first impedance value for at least a period of time;
- and
- an impedance matching circuit electrically connected between a first port in electrical communication with the antenna and a second port in electrical communication with the diplexer, the impedance matching network configured to match an impedance of the antenna and the diplexer by electrically repositioning one or more elements of the impedance matching circuit from an electrical connection with the first port to an electrical connection with the second port, and the impedance matching circuit including a switch separated from the first port and the second port by a pair of switches.
A wireless device comprising:
- an antenna configured to receive and transmit wireless signals, the antenna having a first impedance value;
- and
- a packaged module including an impedance matching circuit electrically connected to the antenna and a second circuit element, the impedance matching network including a first switch, a second switch, and a third switch, the first switch connected between the antenna and a shunt element, the third switch connected between the shunt element and the second circuit element, the second switch being part of the shunt element, the second switch separated from the antenna by the first switch and separated from the second circuit element by the third switch.
