Abstract
Techniques for removing purchases from online containers are described. For example, an indication of a purchase of a first product at a first store by a user is received. A user account associated with the user is identified. The user account has an online container for storing one or more desired products. The first product is matched to one or more desired products based on one or more product characteristics of the first product and of the one or more desired products. The one or more desired products that match the first product are removed from the online container.

A system comprising:
- one or more hardware processors;
- and
- a non-transitory machine-readable medium for storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more hardware processors, cause the one or more hardware processors to perform operations comprising:
- receiving, at a server associated with a shopping management system, an indication of a purchase, by a user associated with a user identifier, of a first product at a first store associated with a third-party merchant system, the indication of the purchase including data identifying the first product;
- identifying, at a database record of a data storage system associated with the shopping management system, a user account associated with the user identifier and with an online container that stores one or more identifiers of one or more desired products;
- matching, at the server associated with the shopping management system, the first product to one or more desired products based on one or more product characteristics of the first product and of the one or more desired products;
- automatically determining, at the server associated with the shopping management system, that a desired product of the one or more desired products was purchased from the third-party merchant system, the automatic determining being based on the matching of the first product to the one or more desired products;
- and
- removing, from the online container associated with the user account at the database record of a data storage system associated with the shopping management system, the one or more identifiers of the one or more desired products that match the first product based on the automatic determining that the desired product of the one or more desired product was purchased from the third-party merchant system, and based on a permission from the third-party merchant system to remove the one or more identifiers of the one or more desired products from the online container.
A method comprising:
- receiving, at a server associated with a shopping management system, an indication of a purchase, by a user associated with a user identifier, of a first product at a first store associated with a third-party merchant system, the indication of the purchase including data identifying the first product;
- identifying, at a database record of a data storage system associated with the shopping management system, a user account associated with the user identifier and with an online container that stores one or more identifiers of one or more desired products;
- matching, at the server associated with the shopping management system, and using one or more hardware processors, the first product to one or more desired products based on one or more product characteristics of the first product and of the one or more desired products;
- automatically determining, at the server associated with the shopping management system, that a desired product of the one or more desired products was purchased from the third-party merchant system, the automatic determining being based on the matching of the first product to the one or more desired products;
- and
- removing, from the online container associated with the user account at the database record of a data storage system associated with the shopping management system, the one or more identifiers of the one or more desired products that match the first product based on the automatic determining that the desired product of the one or more desired product was purchased from the third-party merchant system, and based on a permission from the third-party merchant system to remove the one or more identifiers of the one or more desired products from the online container.
A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more hardware processors of a machine, cause the one or more hardware processors to perform operations comprising:
- receiving, at a server associated with a shopping management system, an indication of a purchase, by a user associated with a user identifier, of a first product at a first store associated with a third-party merchant system, the indication of the purchase including data identifying the first product;
- identifying, at a database record of a data storage system associated with the shopping management system, a user account associated with the user identifier and with an online container that stores one or more identifiers of one or more desired products;
- matching, at the server associated with the shopping management system, the first product to one or more desired products based on one or more product characteristics of the first product and of the one or more desired products;
- automatically determining, at the server associated with the shopping management system, that a desired product of the one or more desired products was purchased from the third-party merchant system, the automatic determining being based on the matching of the first product to the one or more desired products;
- and
- removing, from the online container associated with the user account at the database record of a data storage system associated with the shopping management system, the one or more identifiers of the one or more desired products that match the first product based on the automatic determining that the desired product of the one or more desired product was purchased from the third-party merchant system, and based on a permission from the third-party merchant system to remove the one or more identifiers of the one or more desired products from the online container.
