Abstract
The current invention relates to the method to achieve virtual reality or augmented reality with using flexible substrate containing light emitting arrays, or optical passage arrays, to project image upon the retinas of human eyes. Further, it relates to the method to detect the real-time focal length change of the eye-lens and modify the flexible substrate's curvature and distance from the eye to vary global angle configurations of light beams that go into the eye to produce images on the retina at various focus depth of the eyes to achieve re-focusable artificial vision.

A method to display images to a viewer comprising:
- providing an eye sensor and a substrate containing an array of light emitting devices;
- producing light beams passing through eye-lens of eyes of said viewer to project a first image on retinas of said eyes using said array of light emitting devices, wherein said substrate having a first curvature and said eye-lens having a first focus depth;
- detecting said eye lens having a second focus depth using said eye sensor;
- deforming said substrate to obtain a second curvature, wherein said light beams pass through said eye-lens at said second focus depth to project a second image on said retinas;
- wherein said second focus depth is shorter than said first focus depth and said second curvature is larger than said first curvature.
A method to project images to eyes of a viewer comprising:
- providing an eye sensor;
- providing a substrate having a first curvature and containing an array of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs);
- producing directional light beams passing through eye-lens of said eyes to project a first image on retinas of said eyes using said array of OLEDs, wherein said eye-lens having a focus depth;
- detecting a change of said focus depth using said eye sensor;
- deforming said substrate to obtain a second curvature after said change of said focus depth, wherein said directional light beams projecting a second image on said retina after said change of said focus depth.
A method to project images to eyes of a viewer comprising:
- providing an eye sensor, and a substrate having a first curvature and containing an array of light passage components (LPCs);
- an incoming light passing through said array of LPCs resulting in directional light beams passing through an eye-lens of said eyes to project a first image on retinas of said eyes, wherein said eye-lens having a focus depth;
- detecting a change of said focus depth using said eye sensor;
- deforming said substrate to obtain a second curvature after said change of said focus depth, wherein said directional light beams project a second image on said retinas after said change of said focus depth.
