Abstract
A display device includes a backlight unit and a display panel disposed on the backlight unit. The backlight unit includes a light source unit and an optical unit disposed between the light source unit and the display panel. The optical unit includes an alignment layer, quantum rods disposed on the alignment layer, and an accommodation part configured to accommodate the alignment layer and the quantum rods.
Claims15
A display device, comprising:
- a backlight unit;
- and
- a display panel disposed on the backlight unit,
- wherein the backlight unit comprises:
- a light source unit;
- and
- an optical unit disposed between the light source unit and the display panel,
- wherein the optical unit comprises:
- an alignment layer;
- quantum rods disposed on the alignment layer, wherein each of the quantum rods has a long axis and a short axis crossing the long axis and the quantum rods are aligned using grooves in the alignment layer extending in a first direction corresponding to the long axis of each of the quantum rods, the grooves being spaced apart from each other in a second direction corresponding to the short axis of each of the quantum rods;
- and
- an accommodation part configured to accommodate the alignment layer and the quantum rods.

- quantum rods disposed on the grooves;

- an accommodation part storing the alignment layer and the quantum rods.
