Abstract
A submerged combustion melting system (90) includes a submerged combustion melter (100) having a housing (102) that defines a melting chamber (104) and one or more vibration damping devices (340) operatively coupled to the housing (102).
Claims10
A submerged combustion melting system comprising:
- a submerged combustion melter having a housing that defines a melting chamber, the housing having a longitudinal axis;
- and
- a plurality of vibration damping devices operatively coupled to the housing to damp the vibration of the melter during operation, wherein at least one of the plurality of vibration damping devices is arranged to damp vibration in the direction of the longitudinal axis and at least another one of the plurality of vibration damping devices is arranged to damp vibration transverse to the longitudinal axis.
