Abstract
A method and apparatus for performing device-to-device (D2D) operation in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) receives a signal for D2D operation, and performs the D2D operation in a non-activated carrier.
Claims13
A method for performing, by a user equipment (UE), a device-to-device (D2D) operation in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving a signal for D2D operation from an anchor cell which is an activated cell,
- wherein the signal for D2D operation includes a time/frequency tracking reference cell identifier (ID), and scheduled resources for a non-activated cell;
- synchronizing time/frequency based on the time/frequency tracking reference cell ID;
- and
- performing the D2D operation in the non-activated cell based on the scheduled resources, upon the synchronizing of the time/frequency.

A user equipment (UE) comprising:
- a memory;
- a transceiver;
- and
- a processor coupled to the memory and the transceiver, and configured to:
- control the transceiver to receive a signal for device-to-device (D2D) operation from an anchor cell which is an activated cell, wherein the signal for D2D operation includes a time/frequency tracking reference cell identifier (ID), and scheduled resources for a non-activated cell;
- synchronize time/frequency based on the time/frequency tracking reference cell ID;
- and
- perform the D2D operation in the non-activated cell based on the scheduled resources, upon the synchronizing of the time/frequency.
