Abstract
A method, apparatus, computer program, and data structure relating to: causing correlation of a digital signal provided by a receiver with a motion-compensated correlation code, wherein the motion-compensated correlation code is a correlation code that has been compensated before correlation using one or more phasors dependent upon an assumed or measured movement of the receiver.
Claims19
A terrestrial positioning system comprising:
- a local signal generator, configured to provide a local signal;
- a receiver configured to receive a signal from a remote source in a first direction, which is a line-of-sight direction from a transmitter to the receiver;
- a motion module configured to provide a plurality of phasors comprising an amplitude and an angle which are indicative of a measured or assumed movement of the receiver in the first direction;
- a correlation unit configured to provide a correlation signal by correlating the local signal with the received signal;
- and
- at least one processor adapted to provide motion compensation of at least one of the local signal, the received signal, and the correlation signal in the first direction by combining at least one of the local signal, the received signal and the correlation signal with the plurality of phasors provided by the motion module in such a manner as to provide preferential gain for a signal received in the first direction in comparison with a signal received in a second direction, which is a not the line-of-sight direction from the transmitter to the receiver.
A method, performed in a terrestrial positioning system, comprising:
- providing a local signal;
- receiving a signal at a receiver from a remote source in a first direction, which is a line-of-sight from a transmitter to the receiver;
- providing a plurality of phasors comprising an amplitude and an angle which are indicative of a measured or assumed movement of the receiver in the first direction;
- providing a correlation signal by correlating the local signal with the received signal;
- and
- providing motion compensation of at least one of the local signal, the received signal, and the correlation signal in the first direction by combining at least one of the local signal, the received signal and the correlation signal with the plurality of phasors based on the measured or assumed movement in the first direction in such a manner as to provide preferential gain for a signal received in the first direction in comparison with a signal received in a second direction, which is not the line-of-sight direction from the transmitter to the receiver.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium configured to store instructions executable by a processor, wherein execution of the instructions causes the processor to undertake steps, comprising:
- receiving a signal at a receiver characterized by a terrestrial location from a remote source in a first direction which is a line-of-sight from a transmitter to the receiver;
- providing a plurality of phasors comprising an amplitude and an angle which are indicative of a measured or assumed movement of the receiver in the first direction;
- providing a correlation signal by correlating a local signal with the received signal;
- and
- providing motion compensation of at least one of the local signal, the received signal, and the correlation signal in the first direction by combining at least one of the local signal, the received signal and the correlation signal with the plurality of phasors based on the measured or assumed movement in the first direction in such a manner as to provide preferential gain for a signal received in the first direction in comparison with a signal received in a second direction, which is not the line-of-sight direction from the transmitter to the receiver.
A terrestrial positioning system comprising:
- a local signal generator configured to provide a local signal;
- a receiver configured to receive a signal from a remote source in a first direction, which is a line-of-sight direction from a transmitter to the receiver;
- a motion module configured to provide a plurality of phasors comprising an amplitude and an angle which are indicative of a measured or assumed movement of the receiver in the first direction;
- a correlation unit configured to provide a correlation signal by correlating the local signal with the received signal;
- and
- a processor adapted to provide motion compensation of the correlation signal in the first direction by combining the correlation signal with the plurality of phasors provided by the motion module in such a manner as to provide preferential gain for the signal received in the first direction in comparison with a signal received in a second direction, which is a not the line-of-sight direction from the transmitter to the receiver.
