Location-based services

A system comprising:

• one or more computer-readable memories storing program instructions;
• and one or more processors configured to execute the program instructions to cause the system to perform operations comprising:
• receiving one or more dating preferences associated with a first user;
• receiving a user-defined geofence that defines an area having a geographic location for its center;
• determining that a first mobile device of the first user and a second mobile device of a second user have each crossed into the area defined by the geofence;
• detecting, in response to determining that the first mobile device and the second mobile device have each crossed into the area defined by the geofence, whether the second user satisfies the one or more dating preferences;
• and
• in response to detecting that the second user satisfies the one or more dating preferences, causing a notification to be displayed on the first mobile device of the first user.

A system comprising:

• one or more computer-readable memories storing program instructions;
• and
• one or more processors configured to execute the program instructions to cause the system to perform operations comprising:
• receiving one or more dating preferences associated with a first user;
• receiving a user-defined geofence that defines an area having a geographic location for its center;
• determining that a first mobile device of the first user and a second mobile device of a second user have each crossed into the area defined by the geofence;
• detecting, in response to determining that the first mobile device and the second mobile device have each crossed into the area defined by the geofence, whether the second user satisfies the one or more dating preferences;
• and
• in response to detecting that the second user satisfies the one or more dating preferences, causing a notification to be displayed on the first mobile device of the first user.
