Abstract
A system and method for obtaining, by an electronic device, a first set of image data recorded during an image capture event and a second set of image data recorded during an image capture event. During the image capture event, a characteristic of an image capture device is changed from a first state to a second state. The first and second sets of image data are recorded by an image capture device having one or more image recording components with one or more image sensor arrays. An image is generated based at least in part on the first and second sets of image data.
Claims29
A method, comprising:
- obtaining a first set of image data, from a first set of sensors of a sensor array of an image capture device, wherein the first set of image data corresponds to light passing through a first aperture of the image capture device during an image capture event, the first aperture associated with a first focal length;
- obtaining a second set of image data, from a second set of sensors of the sensor array of the image capture device, wherein the second set of image data corresponds to light passing through a second aperture of the image capture device during the image capture event, the second aperture associated with a second focal length distinct from the first focal length;
- changing a focus of the image capture device from a first focus setting to a second focus setting during the image capture event;
- and
- generating an image based at least in part on the first set of image data and the second set of image data.
A system, comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory including instructions that, as a result of execution by the one or more processors, cause an image capture device to:
- obtain a first set of values from a first set of sensors of an image sensor array of the image capture device, the first set of values corresponding to light passing through a first aperture of the image capture device during an image capture event;
- obtain a second set of values from a second set of sensors of the image sensor array of the image capture device, the second set of values corresponding to light passing through a second aperture of the image capture device during the image capture event, wherein a first focal length associated with the first aperture of the image capture device is different than a second focal length associated with the second aperture of the image capture device;
- change a focus of the image capture device from a first focus setting to a second focus setting during the image capture event;
- and
- generate an image based at least in part on the first set of values and the second set of values.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having collectively stored thereon executable instructions that, as a result of execution by one or more processors of an electronic device comprising a sensor array, cause the electronic device to at least:
- perform an image capture process during which light passes through a first aperture of a first set of sensors of the sensor array;
- during the image capture process, cause a first focus associated with the first aperture to change from the first focus to a second focus of a second aperture of a second set of sensors of the sensor array, a first focal length of the first aperture being different from a second focal length of the second aperture;
- obtain, for the image capture process, a first set of image data corresponding to the first aperture and a second set of image data corresponding to the second aperture;
- and
- generate an image using the first set of image data and the second set of image data.
